Bryan ISD is excited to announce Ashley Lopez as the new Principal of Mary Branch Elementary School. The new campus lead was announced at the June 3 school board workshop. She has been promoted from assistant principal at Kemp-Carver Elementary School where she has served as an administrator for the last four years.
“I will be carrying all the many lessons I have learned and the countless memories I have made with me, as I transition into my new position as the Proud Principal at Branch Elementary,” Lopez said.
Lopez graduated from Bryan High School and later earned her degree from Texas A&M University.
“While I began my teaching career in Cy-Fair ISD, it did not take long before I returned home to Bryan and started teaching in Bryan ISD,” she said.
Superintendent Ginger Carrabine shared, “We are excited that Ms. Lopez is assuming the principal role at Mary Branch Elementary. Her first-hand knowledge of Bryan ISD as a former student and long-time employee in the district has prepared her for the position. Her knowledge, skills, and dedication to serving our students will ensure a smooth transition.”
When she first began teaching in Bryan ISD in 2009, she served as a seventh grade social studies teacher before becoming department head in 2013 for one year. She then transitioned into a position as an instructional coach for social studies and ELA. She has also been involved in the Odyssey Program at SFA Middle School..
She moved from middle school to elementary school during the 2020-2021 school year when she took an assistant principal position at Kemp-Carver Elementary under the leadership of Alison Boggan.
“As I move into this new role as the Proud Principal at Branch Elementary School, I intend to continue to focus on relationships with staff, students, parents, and the community,” Lopez said. “I look forward to gaining your trust with your child and their educational experience. As a parent myself, I understand the role relationships can play in developing a child to their full potential. I am looking forward to an exciting and strong start to our new school year together!”
Ashley Lopez will take over as Principal at Branch Elementary for the 2024-2025 school year. She is taking this position following the departure of Principal Amy Lively, who will be moving to take on a principal position in East Central ISD.
